I just noticed that Davidson's is restricting sales of the Ruger SR-556 in CT (among other states). But yet, I can purchase a Bushmaster carbine from Davidson's without restriction. Anyone know what's up with that? Could it be an error on the website?

This topic makes more sense now that I have spoken to some people about it. There are three major components on semiautomatic rifles that are not legal in CT and they are:

1) bayonet lug
2) telescoping stock
3) certain types of flash suppressors

If a rifle is transferred to an FFL here in CT with the above characteristics, the rifle must be modified before it is transferred to the buyer to be compliant. The modifications costs the buyer some extra money, or course.

So, the SR-556 is legal to own in CT if it does not possess the three aforementioned components.

Is that correct?

If modified at lets say a Class 2 SOT/Manufacturer to be ban compliant, then it is legal here.
